The p90x fitness program is an exceedingly intense workout session that is driven at improving certain factors in your life. It is implied for those of you in decent shape to partake in, so if you do not meet the minimum fitness requirements, then it might not be a good idea for you to try this program. Fortunately, there are other programs available for you if you are not physically fit enough yet to perform this workout. If you would first like to see if you are fit enough to proceed with this program, then you can take the fit test that is a necessary part of the program.

For the fitness test, you will need a heart rate monitor, body fat tester, tape measure, scale, a chin up bar, a timer, towel, and water. You will want to appraise your resting heart rate throughout this procedure. This will be a good indicator of your gross cardiovascular fitness. Before you get out of bed, measure your resting heart rate. As you continue through the program, this rate should decrease. A good idea is to warm up for roughly ten minutes before you begin your workout.

One of the first exercises to try is the pull up. For some of you, the pull up is one of your least preferred exercises. Grasp the bar with your palms facing ahead and do as many pull ups as you can without bouncing up. Record the number that you can do. The minimum suggested for the p90x workout is three pull-ups for males and at least one for females. It is passing if you cannot do any at the beginning of the program, this is common. This is just a necessary portion of the test to see how you will do in the future.
